Privacy Policy

Dairy Khata ("we", "us", "our") is a mobile app designed for milk collectors, dairy suppliers, and local buyers. The app helps record milk collection, quantity, rates, and payments.

1. Information We Collect

We only collect the minimum information needed to run the app:

• Phone number: We use your phone number to create and verify your account (login / OTP).
• Business data you enter: For example:
  • Customer / supplier names
  • Milk quantity, FAT, SNF etc.
  • Prices and payment amounts
  This is data you type in for your dairy business. We store it so you can view your records later.
• Approximate location (city-level), with your permission: If you grant location permission when prompted (for example, after the notification permission prompt, when connecting a Bluetooth printer or fat-testing machine, or by tapping "Update Location" in Settings), we capture a coarse, city-level location once and store it on your account. We round the coordinates to roughly 1 km precision and also store the city, district, and state derived from them.
  • We use the foreground "while in use" permission only — we do not track your location in the background.
  • We use this information to make the app more relevant to your area (for example, region-specific content, local rate references, and aggregate analytics about how the app is used across India). We do not share your individual location with other users.
  • You can deny the prompt, or revoke location permission later from your phone settings, at any time. The app continues to work without location.

We do not collect your photos, contacts, or pan card / Aadhaar unless you explicitly type them into notes yourself.

2. How We Use Your Data

We use the data to:

• Let you log in securely with your phone number
• Show you your own transaction history and reports
• Help you send summaries (for example, to a buyer) about milk collected and money due

We do not sell your data to anyone.

3. Where Your Data Is Stored

We use Google Firebase services to store and manage your data. This includes:

• Firebase Authentication – used for phone number / OTP login
• Cloud Firestore / Realtime Database – used to store your dairy records (including the approximate location described in Section 1, if you granted permission)

Your data is stored securely on Google Cloud infrastructure. We rely on Firebase's built-in security features like authentication and access rules.

Third-party processors: When you grant location permission, we send the captured GPS coordinates to OpenStreetMap's Nominatim service (operated by the OpenStreetMap Foundation) to look up the corresponding city, district, and state name. Nominatim receives only the coordinates and a generic "Dairywala" identifier — it does not receive your phone number or any other identifying information about you. 4. Who Can See Your Data

- You can see the data you entered when you log in to the app.
- We (the app team) may access data only for debugging, support, or to fix problems.
- We do not share your data with other users without your action.

5. Children

This app is meant for adults managing dairy / milk business. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.

6. Deleting Your Data / Account

If you want your data deleted, you can contact us using the email below. We can remove your account and related records from our database.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy in the future. If we make important changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
